There are plenty of suitable places and routes for snowshoeing in the Paljakka area. Try climbing the summit of the Paljakanvaara hill or a lowland trek to a forest hut at Lake Rakennusjärvi. Please try also the new Scenic trail that takes you to the ancient, protected forest of Paljakka Strict Nature Reserve.
Snowshoeing is also a very sustainable way to explore winter nature. Moving through the landscape using your own energy creates no emissions and allows you to experience the peace and silence of the forest up close. By staying on marked routes and respecting the surrounding nature, we can help preserve Paljakka’s unique winter environment and wildlife for future generations.
