WEEKLY PROGRAM GUARANTEED DEPARTURES ON SATURDAYS

In Paljakka the nearby lakes and streams offer excellent fishing spots for wild fish. Guided ice fishing is the easy way to start this hobby so dear for Finns.

In the winter of 2024-2025, as a guaranteed departure on Saturdays at 12 a.m. as part of the Paljakka’s Weekly (December 27, 2024-March 31, 2025).

Ice fishing is the most traditional way of winter fishing in Finland. At some point in life, a Finn sits by an ice hole and tries his/her luck with ice fishing.

Your programme starts with meeting the guide and transport to the ice of a nearby lake. You will learn from your everything you need to start ice fishing. Warm refreshments (coffee/tea/juice) will be available. Your guide drills the holes needed in the ice, but everyone gets the chance to use the ice auger to drill a hole in the ice.

After the tour you leave your catch of the day into the good hands of your fishing guide. He will prepare the fish in the traditional Finnish way and deliver it to you to enjoy a delicious fish snack later in the evening at Safari Kitchen & Bar restaurant

This program is available as guaranteed departures. Guaranteed departure means that the program will take place, even if there is only one person enrolled.

Meeting place:
Your guided tour starts with meeting your guide at Safari Kitchen  & Bar restaurant. Our SafariFinland Service Desk is located in the restaurant – we meet there.

Our safari house is located in the heart of Paljakka Village center, next to Safari Kitchen & Bar restaurant, at Rinnetie 4, 89140 KOTILA (municipality: Puolanka).

What will you need to bring? Clothing / equipment recommended:
Please remember to dress warmly according to the weather. We recommend you to wear warm and comfortable extra clothes (e.g. underwear, socks, in multiple layers) under our thermal overall provided for you.
